You want an extra-tough pallet designed for heavy products which range in length from 6-11 metres, and you have a set budget. This is a typical challenge presented to Pace Pallet Services and one which we happily met after having received a request from our sheet metal customer.
To keep the cost down meant relying on pine timber and not hardwood. Pine is not as strong as hardwood and it would have to take loads of up to 2 tonnes at a time. What’s more, pine stock comes in 6-metre lengths so we had to design a method of joining lengths together without compromising on strength. Using our pallet design software we came up with an innovative design which met all of our customer’s requirements and they are very happy with the outcome.
