Here is another example of the type custom crating jobs that we do to protect long lengths of valuable aluminium extrusion. The metal that is packed in this case is used for the construction of truck semi-trailer bodies. We had to supply the crate in sub-assemblies which were assembled on site.
The crate is so long that a spreader bar attachment is used on the overhead crane to move the crate.
The other cases you see in the photo use 4 x 6.0 metre bases on the top and bottom and strapped together with timber side cleats.
